Topical antifungals: Uncomplicated vulvovaginal candidiasis will usually respond to short courses of intra vaginal nystatin, miconazole, clotrimazole, butoconazole, terconazole or tioconazole most of which are available over the counter. Tablets, suppositories, ointments and creams all appear equally effective. Failure to respond to self treatment should trigger a visit to your doctor.
