How long after breastfeeding do things go back to normal?

What is normal?: Breastfeeding is entirely natural and normal! but if your question is when your cycle will resume, regular periods, etc, then it's usually 4-8 weeks after stop nursing. However, you can ovulate at any point after you start weaning form full nursing, so if you need alternative contraception, look into it and start before you start the weaning process.

In terms of: The changes in the breast, plastic surgeons usually advise that it's about 5-6 months before everything has "settled back down", after finishing breast feeding. That's one reason why we wait this period of time before performing a breast surgery after pregnancy.
