Need xray: The baby tooth is not growing, but may have an impacted permanent tooth below it. It is not unusual to keep a baby tooth into adulthood. You need an xray to determine what is happening.

Need to see Dentist: All 20 baby teeth have grown in by age 3, and fall out between ages 6 to 12-14. If no permanent tooth present under baby tooth, or of permanent tooth impacted, baby tooth can remain in mouth for many years. You need to see a dentist for an exam and x-rays to find out exactly what's going on. Don't be surprised if he refers you to an orthodontist.
