DT: Delirium tremens is the shakes caused by withdrawal from alcohol, along with confusion, disorientation, nightmares, diarrhea, fever, sweat, high BP & agitation, all occurring days after heavy drinking. The term could also apply to the diptheria tetanus (dt) vaccine.
