A member asked:

Could you get withdrawal symptoms from your first time drinking or smoking cigarettes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: It takes repeated use, over many weeks, and usually at least months or even years. You can get reactions from your first drinking episode (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, headache) but that is a hangover, not withdrawal, and first tobacco can do similar things.
