Sequence: Possibility high for withdrawal issues and best to have your doctor use a minor tranquilizer to control problems. Seizure could occur 6-96 hrs after cessation of alcohol and potential delirium tremens a realty. In view of your history work closely with your doctor. Maybe safer to have a few days in hospital??

Alcohol withdrawal: Firstly, I commend you on your decision and wish you the best! Alcohol withdrawal can start within hours, and include shaking, anxiety, confusion, delusions, seizures and more. Seek medical attention immediately if these occur, or better yet, stop under the supervision of an experienced medical team.
