Prevention: One of the most important things is to control your environment. Keep sugary foods out of the house, plan and pack healthy snacks for predictable times when you are hungry. Also allow yourself small, portioned sweet treats as total abstinence will just make you crave more. If you fail, get back on your plan and don't guilt trip. Finally, control stress as much as you can.

Berberine, Metformin: Sugar addiction is physiological, not psychological. To overcome this "problem, " need to restore Insulin receptor sensitivity. Metformin and berberine will both do this--taken together is better than either alone. Usual dose is 1, 000 to 2, 000 mg of each substance.
