Not likely: Insanity is a layman's term for mental illness. About 50% of the population suffers from mental illness at any given point in their lives. These illnesses range from mild to severe. Depression is treatable. If you are referring to temporary insanity, it is highly unlikely for depression to cause an individual to lose control of his or her faculties and commit an act which he or she can't recollect.
