Usually 10 yrs: We generally recommend a tetanus booster every 10 years to adults that have completed their primary series.Some who work in higher risk areas like landscaping or who garden a lot may choose to do so every 5 years. Someone with a "dirty " wound is often boosted if it has been more than 5 yrs.
