TIming to heal: Many factors affect time to heal. Age, severity of damage, treatment, nutrition, etc. The simple answer is to minimize further damage while keeping the area flexible and mobile.Gently do range of motion to prevent stiffness. Ice massage (24-36 hours), compression and elevation are the keys to maximize healing. Things need time to heal well, don't push it.

Sprain: Sprains of the foot can take anywhere from the couple of days up to eight weeks for the symptoms to resolve. If the symptoms do not resolve and are not improving you should see a podiatrist for further evaluation.
