Different options: A scar means that the tissues have healed. There will be remodeling of it for many months depending on what stresses it undergoes. Regarding skin dryness, using a moisturing cream or lotion will help best. Lotions have more water content and are absorbed faster. Creams last longer but work more slowly. Ointments use petroleum jelly protect but usually do not add much moisture to the skin.
