A member asked:

Is it possible that having seizures as a kid mess with your mental health later on in life?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes, yes.: Hopefully, you grew out of your seizures, and suffered no severe complications when young. But there are seizure sub-types, such as complex partial seizures, which can be associated with psychiatric symptoms. Not unique for epilepsy patients to have chronic emotional disorders, such as depression. Hope this helps.
