Indefinite: Schizoaffective disorder is a chronic condition, with remissions and relapses. The person can have episodes of depression and mania/hypomania; also psychotic symptoms even when not in a mood episode. They will most likely need medications indefinitely, both to cover ongoing psychotic symptoms and to protect from mood disruption. It is not a "few months & you're done" situation.
