A member asked:

What can you do to relieve an infected tonsil?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tonsillitis: Tonsillitis, infection of the tonsil tissue, is treated with antibiotics. However, if there are repeated infections, surgical removal of the tonsils may be indicated (such as 7 infections in one year, etc.). If you are having trouble swallowing, asymmetric tonsils, or high fevers -- definitely consult your family doc and ask about an ENT referral!
