It means: That the ct scan was negative for pertinent findings while the condition or disease of the patient was demonstrated to be in existence at the time of the scan.

The CT scan images: Did not show the abnormality, however the abnormality still existed. Perhaps the abnormality was too small, too subtle or obscured by other things around it.
