Natural treatment: Alternative treatments for depression include exercise, eating a healthy diet, herbal supplements ( i.e. 5 htp, same or st john's wort), journaling, support groups and vitamins ( b complex, vitamin d and omega 3).It is best to get evaluated and make sure it is depression and not a medical illness. It isn't a bad thing to ask help. In fact, you already made the first step.
