Excellent question.: Perform the exam during or after a shower, when the skin of the scrotum is relaxed. Check one testicle at a time. Hold the testicle between your thumbs and fingers of both hands and roll it gently between your fingers. It should feel like a smooth egg. Feel for any lumps, bumps, or changes in size. Familiarize yourself with the size and shape of each, as you are looking for changes over time.
