Can you let me know how many times does the needle have to go in to get enough sample for a biopsy?

1-12 times: If you have a small lesion seen on ultrasound and your doctor knows that a large ocre is sampled right in the middle then one is enough. Usually though, a sample should be taken of the top, middle and lower portion of a tumor to get a good sampling. On stereotactic breast biopsies, a doctor can take as many as 12 samples in one area.
