A member asked:

What are the reasons doctors take urine tests before ct scans?

Not sure: I'm not sure what you're asking. In a female of child bearing age a urine pregnancy is performed, as radiation could hurt a fetus. In patients's above 65 or at risk for kidney disease, BUN and creatinine are measured to check kidney function. This is because ct contrast ("dye") can bother the kidneys, in those with kidney disease.
