A bit confusing, and vague, but generic approach may help. The MRI will provide improved soft tissue views of the kidney and liver, allowing more precise needle biopsy, if indicated. Sometimes one study shows unexpected findings which need further testing to more fully understand. Have a conference with your doctor to uncover further considerations.

It is unclear from your description-what was in the area in your liver? So, it appears that you have something abnormal in your liver that requires an MRI for further evaluation in order for your doctor to diagnose the abnormality. This could be many,many things so get the MRI done this will give much needed information! Then, see your doctor again to find out what it is and get treated! Good luck

I assume diabetes, lupus, chronic glomerulonephritis or long-standing hypertension aren't the cause of your proteinuria. Has a 24 hour total protein total been done? Has a urine electrophoresis & immunofixation been done to check for systemic amy!oidosis which can also affect the liver which is enlarged in that disease? If you have massive amounts of protein in your urine a nephrologist is neede
