A member asked:

I seem to have like a really curved back. if i also have scoliosis, is it any more or less likely that i will have excessive lordosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Where?: In adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, loss of normal thoracic kyphosis is typical. However, in some patients with a kyphoscoliosis, this must be compensated with increased lumbar lordosis. So either may occur in an attempt to balance the head over the center of the hips/pelvis on the frontal and side views. This is the body's normal compensation for spinal deformity.
