See an orthopaedist: If the tendon ruptures, you usually know it because it happens as a sudden event with pain, swelling, and you wont be able to push down with your foot. If it is tender / painful where the tendon attaches to the foot, it could be tendinitis. If it doesn't get better with rest, see an orthopaedist.
