Oxygen poor: Do you currently smoke or smoked in the past? If so, you may be experiencing claudication which is a reduction in blood flow to the leg and foot muscles. Smoking affects arteries by causing plaque build inside arteries and causing constriction of the arteries. Think of squeezing a hose when water flows through. If the muscles don't get oxygen they spasm and tighten up.
