A member asked:

What is considered a healthy, typical age that teens start getting big breakouts and acne and such?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Why ask?: It can start as early as age eight, or the onset may be as late as the early adult years. If someone for whom you are responsible has acne, you need to know that it's treatable, and if ignored is likely to be a serious, chronic problem. It's not due to poor hygiene or bad lifestyle. Not to treat it in a timely way is likely to lead to a lifetime of regrets.
