How can the ketegonic diet help people with epilepsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ketogenic diet: The ketogenic diet helps people with medication resistant seizures by changing the acid-base balance of the bloood and brain tissue. This in turn will alter the action of nerve cell membranes as as electrolytes move through the membranes in and out of the cells. This will stabilize the cell membranes.
