A member asked:

What problems can someone with epilepsy have during pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: As the mother gains size and weight, the anti-epileptic medication dosing will require modification. Meds must be continued throughout in view of risk of convulsion and miscarriage. Some medications do cause risk to the baby and perhaps these should be changed prior to pregnancy.
