Brush all your teeth: Following surgery, you should brush all of your teeth. I advise my patients to avoid brushing over the extraction sites on the day of surgery and to rinse lightly with warm water after eating. On the first postop day they are instructed to use a soft toothbrush and begin lightly brushing over the extraction sites on the second postoperative day, they begin brushing normally over the sites.
