Serious Rx: Cystic acne requires heavy-duty scientific treatment, often Isotretinoin that only a dermatologist can give. If you are responsible for the emotional and physical health of a teen with cystic acne, and you neglect this, it will be a source of lifetime regret / resentment. There's no lifestyle or home remedy that will touch it. Please do the right thing.

OTC cleansers/Creams: Adult female acne is primarily hormonal. Start with over-the-counter acne regimen like Proactiv line (benzyol peroxide) or cetaphil oil control foamy wash(salicylic acid). You can get effaclar cream by la-roche possay at a pharmacy and try it. Be sure to use a moisturize since use of these products will significantly dry your skin out. Visit your dermatologist to individualize your treatment.
