No good answer: Putting out high amounts of Insulin to keep blood sugars normal in persons who are obese or for other reasons resistant to insulin's actions is associated with eventual beta cell (the cells that make insulin) failure but there is not a particular Insulin level or time period for that occurring. Most people continue to make some insulin... Just not enough to keep blood glucose a normal.
