Antibiotic ear drops: Swimmer's ear is due to a bacterial infection of the ear canal. Pain will get better with treatment with antibiotic drops. You can also take Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) for the pain as you are waiting for the antibiotics to take effect.
