PPI's and avoidance: Ulcers if bleeding can be treated if they are cauterized during endoscopy. But basic way to treat ulcer is with meds called ppi's- this is nexium, protonix, dexilant, (dexlansoprazole) prevacid, prilosec...Etc. This keeps the acid down and allows ulcer time to heal. Avoiding things that make ulcer worse also helps-like alcohol, nsaids or Aspirin or steroids or smoking etc. If assoc w h.Pylori-treating this helps.

Find the cause: The most common cause of stomach ulcers are certain medication such as aspirin & NSAIDs. If discontinuation is not an option, taking an acid suppressant such as Prilosec can help.
