Schizophrenia sympts: Acute schizophrenia symptoms include hallucinations, delusions (usually paranoia, ideas of reference, thought insertion or withdrawal), agitation, isolation, flat affect, thought disorganization. All of these symptoms can be present in other psychosis including mania, psychotic depression drug induced (i've had pts on mj who looked like schizophrenia) early treatment is essential for good outcome.

Schizophrenia: The hallmark of schizophrenia is psychosis. Psychosis may be caused by many conditions and has to do with hallucinations and or delusions. Delusions are fixed, false beliefs. The most common delusion in schizophrenia is paranoia. If someone has paranoid delusions, they usually believe someone is out to get them.
