Psychosis: Psychosis is the hallmark of schizophrenia and has to do with a person having delusions and/or hallucinations. Delusions are fixed, false beliefs. The most common delusions in schizophrenia are paranoia whereby a person believes someone is out to get them. The most common hallucinations in schizophrenia are auditory, whereby a person hears voices when no one is there.
