Don't worry too much: You may have a genetic predisposition to high bp. Quite common and easy to work on. Weight loss if obese helps, as does cutting back on salt and alcohol (one drink daily raises BP 1-2 mmhg). Medications like nsaids (ibuprofen etc), steroids, decongestants, some antidepressants increase bp. Drug therapy is safe and effective if needed. Good idea to monitor at least monthly.
