I keep getting sharp pains in my chest. they go away quick. sometimes happens for ten fifteen minutes. should i get checked out for this?

Uhhhh - YES: Come on, now - you know the answer here. Of course, you should be evaluated to rule out cardiac disease. Once that's clear, you can focus on the less lethal causes, such as reflux or gallbladder disease. Call your doctor in the morning. Good luck.

Need to be checked: You are 45 and you are having chest pains i will suggest you do not waste time and see your medical doctor asap it could be your heart and you should not take chances.Heart disese need to be ruled out.The other possibilities are chest wall pain, esophageal reflux or related to your lungs or pleura.You need a detailed history and physical exam, an ekg and other tests may or may not be indicated.
