I sleep in a fetal position and i woke up today with a sharp pain in my chest/sternum area when i stretched. it went away within a couple minutes. should i go get this checked? i noticed its every time i sleep on my side?

Most likely this is musculoskeletal pain. Local heat and Ibuprofen are often helpful, after discussion with your PCP. Watch for signs of COVID 19, shortness of breath and persistent pain. If this occurs, please see urgent care or your PCP.
