Improve not remove: Many options exist for cosmetic improvement and include anti-inflammatories, peels, exfoliation, lasers, resurfacing, bleaching, excision, grafting, fillers, and much more, scars vary in their severity and so do the treatments. See a plastic surgeon, dermatologist or ENT for options.

Acne scars: Kojic acid, bearberry extract, and vitamin C may lighten your acne scars. Vitamin E and cocoa butter have not been scientifically proven to be effective. The best treatment is laser therapy by a dermatologist. Wear sunscreen SPF 30 or greater to prevent further darkening of scars.

Obagi, Dermesse: Depending on depth of scars, the Obagi & Dermesse (generic Obagi) skin rejuvenation program does an excellent job of treating fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and some scarring, depending on depth. Laser, and some chemical peels also help. Talk about your choices with a dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or PC doc with an interest in cosmetic dermatology. Other programs exist..
