What is typical recovery time & process after meniscal repair/partial tear. how long til pressure can be applied and walking?

Depends on surgery: If you had a menisectomy -- where they just cleaned out meniscus, then recovery time is 6 weeks or so. A couple of days on crutches and then walking, etc. If you had a meniscal repair, then recovery time is 3 - 4 months. There is a brace I use for the first 6 weeks with restricted motion. I let my patients walk with crutches and brace locked in extension.
