There is some risk: Each case is of course different /in a child 4 wks will give some bone healing but not full stability / in general i might remove cast but leave pins for a bit longer and protect in a removable splint / you must discuss this with your orthopedist and if still concerned might seek a second opinion/ usually the young heal quite readily, thankfully.

Should be OK: 4weeks should be enough time for the fracture to be stable to start gentle range of motion. Avoid any contact sports. If worsening pain, swelling or deformity, contact your orthopaedic surgeon asap.
