Sex and Ovaries: The most common cause of pain in the ovaries is mittleschmerz. This is a condition that occur at the end of the last period and before the beginning of your next period. The word is german for middle pain (pain between periods). Are you between periods? This pain is not related to pregancy. If you are concerned, see your doctor who could order tests.

Many things: Most commonly it is an ovarian cyst. Most ovarian cysts are normal. If your symptoms are worsening then see your gyn. Also do a pregnancy test just to be sure.
