Hearing aids: Sounds like you have a nerve hearing loss. There is currently no surgery or medicine to correct that so hearing aids are your best option if you or your family/ friends are bothered by the amount of hearing loss you have. Get them fit by someone experienced and that will minimize some of the problems of hearing wind etc.
