Pap Smears and HPV: It is lilely there is high-risk hpv present with an abnormal pap but the chance of that depends on what the pap abnormality is. If the pap is ascus (atypical cell of undetermined significance) the likelihood of hpv is less than a hsil (high grade) where it is almost certainly there.
