Dm complication?: Although swollen foot and ankle could be from any reason, due to your past medical history dm could lead to complications that may exacerbate this. If you have tingling or burning, you may have less sensitivity to trauma and that could have lead to the swelling. Or vascular complications could also occur. Other reasons: gout, infection, charcot arthropathy, trauma, arthritis, etc.
