Unlikely: Mesalazine can produce some kidney problems ( allergic nephritis ) but not reported to be a cause of renal stones. Regional ileitis can by a different mechanism. If stones recur see a nephrologist for a chemical analysis of the urine to see if you have secondary hyperoxaluria.

Side effects: I am not aware of Lialda being a cause of kidney stones. It is known to cause a different kind of kidney disease condition called "nephrotic syndrome", but not stones.
