Do not take Xanax (alprazolam): Please do not take medication that was not prescribed to you. This could be very dangerous. Xanax (alprazolam) is a controlled substance. It can be addictive.

See your physician : There are many various disorders which could cause anxiety and depression. I can appreciate your concerned about your health, but finding a proper diagnosis and treatment may be the answer to your worries. Do not self medicate and follow the instructions of your physician. Rec.: see your physician for examination, tests and referral, if needed, for the treatment.

See below: Xanax (alprazolam) may be part of the solution at first but it will often become less effective with continued use. It may even become an issue where withdrawal makes anxiety worse. I wonder if you are using other substances and the anxiety stems from withdrawal from those agents which include marijuana.
