Basal Body Temp: The simplest test is to take your basal body temperature, that is, your oral or rectal temperature first thing in the morning, before you get out of bed. You will see your basal body temperature will rise slightly when you ovulate. You can also have an ultrasound done, but it would be more expensive.

Ovulation timing: The most reliable non invasive test for timing of ovulation is a urine test that you can do at home. Basal body temperature is also good but more cumbersome.

Ovulation kit: Purchase a kit from a drugstore and use it at night- if you have a positive test and you are trying to get pregnant, have intercourse on the night of the first positive test and the night after.

Test for Ovulation: Tests for ovulation are inexpensive but cumbersome. Check these links: http://bit.Ly/zhx3ds. Regular cycles means ovulation most cycles. Bbt charts are cheap and good to start if irregular cycles but tells ovulation after egg out. Opk tells ovulation 12-24 hrs ahead but expensive if not sure when to test. Cervical mucus changes and is useful for some women. Best wishes.

Testing for ovulati: You can use an over-the-counter test known as an ovulation predictor kit. This is a "dip stick" you put in the urine and it will indicate when ovulation is about to occur.

Blood and ultrasound: A Progesterone level > 3 indicates ovulation and visualization of an egg house or follicle followed by its disappearance confirms the release of the egg from the ovary.
