Hello, tooth out last week. pain in jaw+tooth site still. is augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) a good a/b? put on that for 7 days same didn't work for orginl rt canal. help!

"Reinforcements": Ouch! though it is possible to still have discomfort 7 days after an extraction, each day of continued pain may point to an infection that needs to be treated. If a previous abscessed tooth did not respond to augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) you might need a different antibiotic or combination of antibiotics to treat what might be many different bacteria at work. Follow up with your surgeon; don't treat yourself.
