A member asked:

If occasional floating stools were caused by pancreatic cancer would they be obviously abnormal looking?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It would be obvious to anyone. "floating stools" are almost always from gas bubbles. They suggest gum-chewing or talking a lot rather than cancer. When due to steatorrhea as from pancreatic cancer, the stools are light-colored and incredibly stinky. If you are obsessed with the idea that you have pancreatic cancer, perhaps a good psychologist or other person can help you manage these thoughts.
