Viral URI: Good chance you do. Most of these upper respiratory infections, uri, are caused by a virus. Antibiotics are usually not needed. Rest, warm fluids, green tea, chicken soup, tylenol, (acetaminophen) advil for pain and/or fever. If symptoms get worse get checked for strep throat. If strep is positive then you do need antibiotics.
