Normal development : The clingy toddler is a typical separation stage. It's the first time the baby recognizes it can be separated from you physically. Go about your daily routines without trying to separate. But don't make an issue of it either. Eventually curiosity and mobility will win the toddler over and she'll separate, unless you embed an abnormal behavior pattern on the child. Be "nonchalant" about it all.
